Shorepoint Medical Group Welcomes New OB/GYN

Obstetrician and gynecologist Scott Hankinson, M.D., has joined ShorePoint Medical Group, the affiliated medical group of ShorePoint Health Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda.

Dr. Hankinson graduated from University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Medical Center of Delaware (now Christiana Care) in Newark, Delaware. Dr. Hankinson is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Hankinson’s areas of specialty include women’s health care that ranges from annual women’s checkups, labor and delivery, and preventive care to the treatment of menopausal symptoms, minimally invasive gynecological surgery, and more. He also has a special interest in treating patients holistically, with a strong focus on nutrition.

Dr. Hankinson and his wife, Erin, have spent the last 19 years traveling the country on contract assignments, but are looking forward to putting roots down in Charlotte County and enjoying the Floridian lifestyle. He enjoys water activities and says, if he’s not seeing patients, you can find him in the gulf. He and his wife also co-authored a children’s book, Happy Bugs, which focuses on education of the microbiome.
